I am interested in learning more about herding. My girl is a lab/border collie mix. Her first weekend with me, we went to visit a friend and she herded the kittens into the bathroom! I like to stay active with her and keep her mind working.
Hi Amy – The Gateway Australian Shepherd Club is holding a herding clinic on September 16, 17, and 18. For a small fee you are welcome to audit (bring a chair and observe). You would be able to attend just one day or all three. Up to you. You should be able to learn a lot by auditing and then be able to decide if you want to continue your herding quest. The contact for this clinic is Diane Bettis. You can email her at dbettis@swbell.net and let her know you’d like to audit the clinic and she will give you more information. If you attend and decide you do want to continue, send me an email at rebasadie5@aol.com and I can assist you further. If you’re not able to attend, let me know and I’ll see if we can get you to another event of ours.
